Happy 10 weeks

Ezekiel is 10 weeks old today!

He is doing well off the ventilator. Last night I got to hold him for about 2 hours- we had so much cuddly fun. :) Ok, so he slept... and I had fun. All of the night nurses are wonderful- it's nice to be there at night. I took them all pumpkin oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. Our nurse last night, Greg, put this adorably-dorky little "ourfit" on him-- it sort of wraps around him and velcrows on (to have easy access to all the iv's and things). Too cute!  This was the first time he wore clothes!!
Daniel is reading this book and is now trying a raw milk diet. We get our organic, grass-fed raw milk from Bob who delivers milk to San Antonio every 2 weeks. We got 18 gallons this week (gasp)!! There isn't room in the fridge for much else right now. I will let you know how Daniel's diet goes. He isn't dieting to loose weight (he has none to loose!)-- he is just seeing how he feels when he is done. This is a 2 week experiment.

The other day one of our chickens layed a giant egg. When we cracked it open, this is what was inside... ...Another egg! A small one, none the less, but still an egg.

Pumpkin Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 C. Flour
1 C. Quick or old fashioned oats
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon (I put 1.5)
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 C. Butter, softened
1 C. Firmly packed brown sugar
1 C. Granulated sugar (I leave this out)
1 Egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 C. Canned pumpkin
1 C. Chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350.
Combine dry ingredients except sugar, stir.
In a separate bowl, cream butter till fluffy. Add sugar and continue beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla, mix well.
Alternate additions of dry ingredients and pumpkin, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop rounded tablespoons onto cookie sheet.
Bake for 20-25 minutes (I only bake for 15. Maybe this has something to do with the missing cup of sugar?)
Eat cookies with a loved one in front of a big fire with hot apple cider wearing warm fuzzy sweaters. And warm fuzzy socks. :)

HAPPY FALL!!

We just about died at how cute Ezie is with the paci and his wide eyes! And that egg is crazy! We get double yolks often enough but another egg is just cool. Nathan will appreciate the cookie recipe I'm sure. He's a fan of the pumpkin. Does Ezie still have a feeding tube too? We have been praying for that too. I don't see anything in his mouth so I am guessing not. Let me know!
Love, Aimee

Happy 10 weeks Ez! Look at those eyes, Kristin! So big and beautiful! I am SO HAPPY that you get to hold him and watch him sleep! That is what I am looking forward to the most with our little boy. =) YESSS!!!! COOKIES! I am SO making those once I go get some pumpkin. I like your recipe idea, I'll probably steal it sometime for one of my blogs in the future! So, is Daniel drinking only raw milk for 2 weeks and eating nothing? Where did he get this idea? I would think that he would GAIN weight...but that's just my thought. Ok, I'll talk to ya soon! Love ya!

Hi Kristin! Just wanted to send you my thoughts and prayers for you, Daniel and Ezekiel. I got an email to pray for you guys though someone in my bible study assuming maybe she knows your mom. I do not believe I know your mom but attend Vineyard Columbus Church and we are one BIG family there! I also am a critical care nurse, most certainly not for babies and am amazed at all the "little" devices. Keep the faith Girl!! Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Aimee-- yes, he still has a feeding tube. It's stuck up his nose. :( Hopefully soon he can breast feed and use a bottle.

Jamie- he got the idea from the milk book he is reading. Apparently overweight ppl will loose weight and underweight ppl will gain weight-- I guess it's supposed to help your body get in balance.

Crystal-- Welcome to my blog, and thanks for the prayers!!! :) :) :)

I'm so glad that you gave me this site address. I've been checking my myspace primarily to see if you had posted anything about Ezie (as I primarily use facebook). I figured you were just too busy to update on the web, and here you were updating so regularly. I love blogs and have one about the kids at thosewilliamskids.blogspot.com. Anyway, I'm so glad to see that Ezie got past that crisis earlier this month. Hopefully it will be relatively smooth sailing home from now on. By the way, your little sweater is amazingly adorable!

Jamie-- yes, I can stick that recipe up here. It's actually Sarah's recipe. :)

Melissa-- Yay I'm so glad you found my blog! And I am excited to see yours. :)

Mom-- I love you :)

I'm glad Ezie's doing so great. He's so darn cute! I can really see the Pike in him!
The all-raw-milk diet is such a Daniel thing! LOL Looking forward to hearing the results. :-)

So as for this egg... I guess I'm the only one who sees this to be a freaky thing! I won't even say it's cool... it's weird! LOL I know we've had double yolks pretty often too, but an egg within an egg???? It reminds me of one of those weird shows that you see on Discovery Health when someone has a huge tumor with teeth and hair growing in it! LMBO

Love you,
Teresa
